In this visualization, i focused on the religious figurine in The Land of the dispossessed. I decided on a word cloud because I wanted to focus on the huge impact the Madonna had throughout the book. Through the word cloud, we can notice how there are words of praise and faith but there is a section in the book where we see hope diminish and the main character 7x3 loses it and blames the Madonna for the misfortunes that have occurred. The multitude of the words in the beginning always tie her to a town or its people. It's sort of a relationship that builds between the figurine and its followers. Religion is very important in Colombia. Approximately 85% of the population is Roman Catholic. Having faith in desperate times is an act of trial in the Catholic Realm and we observe that with the Madonna because her presence is incredibly important.
